As of today, March 1st, 2025, registrations for SpeleoFotoContest 2025 are officially open!

All cave photography enthusiasts can participate by filling out the registration form available on our website. The registration form and participation instructions are currently available only in Italian and English, but in the coming days, they will be translated into Spanish, making the competition accessible to a broad international community.

Competition Categories

For the 2025 edition, SpeleoFotoContest offers multiple categories to showcase different aspects of cave photography:
🔬 Biology – Life in the underground world.
🏛️ Artificial Cavities – Man-made underground environments.
🌊 Underwater Speleology – Exploring submerged cave systems.
📷 Free Shot – Any speleology-related subject.
🌍 Climate Change – Environmental transformations in karst systems.

Selection Process and Deadlines

✔️ Registration deadline: August 31st, 2025
✔️ Preselection: The organizing committee will select the finalist photos.
✔️ Online publication of selected images: October 1st, 2025
✔️ Final phase and awards ceremony: During the National Speleology Meeting “CapoVolta” (Volta Mantovana, October 30 – November 2, 2025).

The Jury

The finalist images will be evaluated by a panel of experts led by Tullio Bernabei, an internationally renowned journalist and documentary filmmaker. The jury will determine the winners and assign the prestigious Sentry Award.
